do you like anonymous people adding you on Friendster or MSN Messenger? maybe you like the feeling of someone adding you, but,
do you really like it?

i personally dont really like it.

it is very easy and obvious what the person's name is, just by looking at his/her MSN nickname or email, isn't it?
emails like trwfiona@hm, fionatrw@yahoo
or nicknames like gArY:i hate you. , j0sH~~*
blabla..

so it's easy to see that if im adding someone, my name is Fiona. and it's also easy to see that when someone's adding me, i can see that they can be addressed as Gary, Josh and so on and on.

what i dont like, is when this happens (after some stranger adds me):

gArY: hello!
me: hi, who are you?
gArY: im gary.

and my next reply will ALWAYS be:

me: im asking WHO ARE YOU, not your name.

and then the stranger(s) will either stop talking to me or will start to explain to me who they are.


however, some of those who made the effort to explain who they are, happens to have no link with me at all; be it through friends or relatives. like:

me: so do i know you, you know me?
boi: erm.. you dont know me de. i dont know you also.
me: oh, how did you find me?
boi: saw you on friendster then add lor.. do you mind?
me: okay.... erh, nope.
boi: can make friends?

then i dont reply anymore.


another situation, is where the person knows me but i dont know them! ah it's scary! im sure this is very common to you readers out there:

me: so do i know you, you know me?
someone: haha.. i dont think you know me.. but i know you. haha..
me: ... okay....

i freak out. until i figure out who the person is. :/


and this situation happened just recently, ever since i became a senior of the batch of students who are younger than me in the school. in other words, 1992s and 1993s blabla.. yup, and so they happily added me on MSN Messenger. you know, nowadays these kids people type fanciful nicknames and emails that you dont even know their name!
nicks like: ZHIYANG ROCKS! (hehe xP), i am so upset, i love you
emails like: punch_yr_face, gothicmoi92, darrling1992

okay fine, i accepted their request. since they're online, it's either they made the effort to say 'hi' to their new friend (me), or i will make the kind effort to say 'hi, hu r u' to them. in this situation, im a little lenient on telling me their name:

me: hi hu r u
girl: hi.. im jeanette.
me: uh, okay.. how are we related?
girl: haha, im ur junior in school.. ctss :)

since she gave a smiley face, i'll be friendly :)

me: okay. which class?

then they'll tell me their class blablabla.. and i WILL still dont know them. therefore, it's either i delete their contact without blocking them (so they can still talk to me) as i need space for more contacts, or put them under the CTSS - JUNORS group in my contacts.


people are just so funny, aren't they?
my advice to all of you: please learn how to introduce yourself properly so that you wont agitate people like me :) exactly how? figure it out yourself. hah.
